THE “SOCIAL MAPPING” PROCESS IN THREE MUNICIPALITIES OF THE COUNTRY CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY.

The National Association of Municipalities of Albania has successfully completed the “Social Mapping” process in three municipalities of Albania: Elbasan, Mat and Klos. This process, which focused on marginalized groups, including women and girls, is part of the project “Regional Cooperation for Better Social Inclusion at Local Level,” supported by NALAS and GIZ/ORF.

Social Mapping Focus for each municipality and their social categories:

Elbasan Municipality: Children with Disabilities, focusing on their support and addressing specific needs.

Mat Municipality: Elderly, focusing on assessing specific needs and challenges they face in daily life.

Klos Municipality: Persons with Disabilities, including all age groups, to ensure full and comprehensive support.

This process has provided a detailed analysis that helps to better understand the needs and challenges faced by these groups in their communities. As a result, a valuable database has been created, which will be used to improve social policies and services at the local level.

The Main Results and Objectives of the Study are as follows:

Developing more effective strategies for social inclusion.

Improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups, including children, people with disabilities and the elderly.

Ensuring that every individual in these categories receives appropriate support and the right to equality in social services.
