In the framework of the proceedings of the Joint Consultative Committee (#JCC), the local government delegation from Albania had the pleasure of being hosted by the Ambassador of Albania to Belgium, Mr. Ferit Hoxha, who appreciated the importance of this forum for the European integration of our country and for the active involvement of local government in this process.
In his speech, the Ambassador emphasized that the JCC is an important mechanism that strengthens inter-institutional cooperation and brings the local perspective to the EU accession process by serving as a platform for direct dialogue, where the impact of EU policies on the ground can be assessed and the engagement of municipalities in European developments can be promoted.
The Ambassador also underlined that the inclusion of municipalities in European governance networks helps in drafting policies that truly reflect the needs of citizens and strengthens Albania’s alignment with EU standards and values.
This meeting was a testament to the joint commitment to make local government a key actor on the path towards the European Union.
