Finance Steering Committee Meeting – an important step towards strengthening local government

Last week, the National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA) organized a meeting with the Finance Steering Committee, with the participation of representatives of the member municipalities of this committee.

This meeting aimed to address some of the most important challenges facing local government, including:

management of local revenues,

challenges related to transfers from the central government,

as well as the need for better cooperation between local and central institutions.

The discussions were open and constructive, emphasizing the importance of continuous and coordinated cooperation to strengthen local finances and improve service delivery to citizens.

This activity was carried out with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Nalas, as part of the commitment to strengthen local government capacities and promote sustainable development.
