The National Association of Municipalities was pleased to be represented at the workshop “Co-Creating Climate-Neutral Cities: A National Platform Approach to Sustainable Mobility in Albania”, organized by ICLEI Europe and held within the framework of the #Walk21 Tirana Conference, by Mr. Gledian Llatja, who presented the initiatives of the Municipality of Elbasan for sustainable mobility and the Elbasan Climate-Neutral Innovation in Mobility (eCIM) project, as part of the city’s efforts for urban transformation and climate neutrality.

The participation of the Municipality of Elbasan was followed by a panel discussion with international experts and representatives of Albanian institutions, where the main challenges in the implementation of sustainable mobility projects and the need for stronger national support in urban transformation processes were addressed.

In this context, Ms. Adelina Farrici, Executive Director of the National Association of Municipalities, contributed by emphasizing the importance of inter-municipal cooperation and strengthening local capacities for the development of sustainable projects.

The Association is and will always be in support of strengthening the role of Albanian municipalities as key actors in facing climate challenges and promoting cooperation between cities for a greener and zero-emission future.
