Albanian Delegation at the 49th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe

The Albanian delegation and the youth delegate for Albania are participating in the 49th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, taking place in Strasbourg, on 28–30 October 2025, at the Palais de l’Europe.
This year, the session takes place in the framework of the 40th anniversary of the European Charter of Local Self-Government, reflecting over four decades of commitment to strengthening local and regional democracy in Europe.

During the plenary sessions, key topics were discussed such as:
Strengthening local democracy and fundamental rights at local level;
Implementation of the European Charter of Local Self-Government in member states;

Russian aggression against Ukraine and the role of local authorities in building a just peace;
Participation of young people and their involvement in local political life.

The Albanian delegation is contributing to the debates and recommendations for strengthening local institutions and promoting the principles of good governance at local level.
