In Pardubice
Where we held a very friendly and fruitful meeting with the Governor of the Pardubice Region, Mr. Martin Netolický, with whom we discussed strengthening cooperation between our two countries at the local level. The focus of the discussion was the importance of EU assistance and funds, as well as increasing the capacities of local governments in Albania for the preparation, drafting and implementation of projects financed by the Union funds.
The Governor expressed his willingness to support the National Association of Municipalities of Albania and Albanian municipalities in this process.
The meetings continued with the Mayor of Pardubice, Mr. Jan Nadrchal, where we exchanged experiences on local governance and models of sustainable urban development.
This cycle of meetings concluded with an important result: the initiation of the twinning process between the Municipality of Saranda and Pardubice – opening a concrete perspective of local cooperation between the two cities
We continue with the tour of meetings in the Czech Republic together with the mayors, where today we were hosted by the Mayor of District 6 of Prague, Mr. Jakub Stárek. During the visit, we were closely acquainted with the management and administration models of one of the most developed areas of the capital, and we shared experiences on processes in local government by exchanging successful practices in public services, urban planning and local economic development.
Another aspect of interest was the close acquaintance with the process of decentralization and democratization of local government in Prague, as well as with the mechanisms of transparency and citizen involvement in decision-making.

Together with mayors of Albania, we started the study visit to Prague, where we were hosted at the headquarters of the Association of Municipalities of the Czech Republic, to strengthen inter-municipal cooperation and the exchange of best practices between the two countries at the local level.
The topics of discussion focused on:
Local governance and functional autonomies
Local finances, grants and investments
Digitalization of services and SMART transformation
Waste management and circular economy
Local economic development, tourism and territorial marketing
Urban planning and mobility
Transparency
With the aim of increasing managerial capacities and promoting concrete bilateral projects.
The delegation of the National Association of Municipalities of Albania, composed of the Executive Director of the National Association of Municipalities of Albania, Adelina Farrici, and 8 mayors of the country, was received by the Ambassador of Albania to the Czech Republic, H.E. Ilir Tepelena.
