Yesterday, with the Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Ervin Demo, the EU Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Silvio Gonzato, the Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Regions in the Congress of the Council of Europe, Mr. Daniel Popescu, mayors of Albania, international partners and experts, we discussed the role of municipalities in European integration and the importance of opening Chapter 22.
In her speech, the Executive Director of SHKBSH, Ms. Adelina Farrici, emphasized that over 70% of the EU acquis is implemented at the local level—placing municipalities at the forefront of the environment, water supply and sewage, waste, preschool education, energy and urban planning.
SHKBSH remains a bridge connecting and supporting local government in empowering municipalities towards integration, quality services and sustainable development.
