🤝🇪🇺 Last week, under the auspices of the Mayor of Durres, Ms. Emiriana Sako, the launch of the “EU4Municipalities II” program took place in Durres, where #ShKBSH participated as a partner in this important initiative to strengthen local government and advance the European integration process at the local level.
📍The event was attended by Prime Minister Mr. Edi Rama, the Ambassador of the European Union Mr. Silvio Gonzato, representatives of international partners, as well as mayors from across the country.
💶 With a support of 11 million euros from the European Union in Albania, the program aims to support Albanian municipalities through:
✔️ investments in infrastructure and public services
✔️ modernization of local government
✔️ strengthening capacities for the absorption and management of EU funds 🇪🇺
🎙️ During the panel discussion with mayors of beneficiary municipalities Mr. Gledian Llatja Ms. Eriselda Sefa and the Executive Director of SHKBSH, Ms. Adelina Farrici, emphasized the importance of the project and the concrete impact it has brought at the local level, especially through direct grants to municipalities. The discussion also focused on the role of the National Association of Municipalities of Albania in supporting municipalities, strengthening inter-municipal cooperation and promoting the exchange of best practices towards European standards.
🌍 As a partner of the project, SHKBSH will continue to contribute to strengthening cooperation between municipalities, central institutions and European partners, in the function of sustainable local development and the approximation of European standards in every municipality of Albania.
