The President of the Albanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, paid a two-day visit to Poland at the invitation of the Mayor of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkiewics-Waltz, and the President of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, where he participated in the forum of Metropolitan Authorities from major European cities to discuss common goals and challenges.
Mayor Veliaj presented the achievements of the Municipality of Tirana, which, thanks to the administrative reform and good management of revenues, has been able to give due attention to and realize a series of important investments in rural areas. The fruits of this reform are also being felt in peripheral areas by developing infrastructure, the education system, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors important for the development of localities, balancing them in parallel with the progress in urban areas.
