The new municipality of Finiqi borders the municipality of Delvinë to the north, the municipality of Konispol to the south, the municipality of Dropull to the east and the municipality of Saranda to the west. The capital of the municipality is Finiqi. According to the 2011 Census, it has a population of 11,862 inhabitants. Meanwhile, according to the Civil Registry, this municipality has 39,055 inhabitants in an area of ​​441.20 km2 and a population density of 88.51 inhabitants/km2. All administrative units are part of the Saranda district, Vlorë region. Finiqi is a municipality that lies in the agricultural area of ​​the Vurgu plain and the mountainous area of ​​the Vurgu gorge. The agricultural area is fertile and agricultural activity has been revitalized in recent years.
