Korça borders the municipality of Maliq to the north, the municipality of Devoll to the east, the municipality of Skrapar to the west, and the municipality of Kolonjë to the south. The capital of the Municipality is the city of Korça. According to the 2011 Census, this municipality has a population of 75,994, while according to the Civil Registry it has a population of 129,065. The new municipality has an area of ​​805.99 km2. This municipality consists of 8 administrative units. The new municipality has under its administration one city and 62 villages. Several rural areas dealing with agriculture and livestock, as well as some of the most prominent tourist villages, were annexed to the Municipality of Korça. The city has a consolidated economy and numerous businesses. In rural areas, agriculture and fruit growing have developed on the one hand, and mountain tourism on the other, where residents have self-provided for the organization of facilities and cuisine, but also winter activities as an attraction for tourists. Over the past few years, Korça has aimed and succeeded in multiplying the number of tourists through a calendar full of festivals throughout the summer.
