Skrapar borders the Gramsh municipality to the north, the Berat and Poliçan municipalities to the west, the Këlcyrë municipality to the southwest, the Përmet municipality to the south, and the Maliq and Korçë municipalities to the east. The capital of the Municipality is the city of Çorovodë. According to the 2011 Census, this municipality has 12,403 inhabitants, while according to the Civil Registry it has a population of 19,072 inhabitants. The new municipality has a considerable area of ​​831.44 km2 with a population density of 22.93 inhabitants/km2. This municipality consists of 8 administrative units. The new municipality has under its administration one city and 106 villages. The new municipality of Skrapar has a rugged mountainous relief, which has a very large territory and a low population. Skrapar’s main source of income comes from livestock and agriculture, products that are highly valued in the country’s markets, among the most famous are Skrapar cheese and brandy. In recent years, Skrapar has experienced increased development through tourism. The Skrapar canyons are attracting more and more attention from foreign and domestic visitors every day. Religious tourism is another resource of this area. Tomori National Park is another very important resource of this area. Unlike the rest of the district, the entire village of Bogova lives on income from family tourism. Part of this municipality is the village of Novaj, known for its decorative stone.
