The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (#SHKBSH) participated in the training on Preparing Applications for Funding in the Field of Energy and Climate held in Podgorica, Montenegro, within the framework of the project “EU4 Energy Transition: Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Türkiye”, an initiative co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by GIZ.

This training aimed to strengthen the capacities of Local Government Associations in the Western Balkans, supporting them in securing funds and developing projects to absorb funds in the field of Energy & Climate.

The main objectives of the training include:

Introduction to financing opportunities from the EU, International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and local funds;

Acquisition of the Project Cycle Management (PCM) methodology for designing successful projects;

Development of skills for identifying challenges and formulating projects in the field of energy and climate;

Avoiding the most common mistakes in preparing funding applications.

This training represents an important step towards improving the access of local authority associations to funding and implementing sustainable projects at the local level!
