#Today, the National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA), represented by the Executive Director Ms. Adelina Farrici, participated in the Launching Meeting of the ReLOaD3 Program, an initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP.
The main objective of ReLOaD3 is to strengthen participatory democracy at the local level, by supporting municipalities to apply a more transparent and unified model of financing civil society organizations, focusing on community needs and improving public services.
Ms. Farrici in her speech emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between local government, civil society and citizens, as a necessity to build more transparent, inclusive and citizen-oriented institutions:
“Local democracy is strengthened when citizens participate, when decision-making is open and when municipalities are closer to the needs of the community,” she emphasized.
SHKBSH will provide dedicated support to pilot municipalities to strengthen local governance practices and active citizen participation in decision-making.
At the same time, SHKBSH will ensure that all municipalities in Albania benefit from the knowledge, standards and models of ReLOaD3, expanding the positive impact of the program at the national level and contributing to a more open and transparent local government towards citizens.
