The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA) held the next meeting of the Pre-university Education Forum.
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to strategic discussions on improving preschool education, with a focus on standards, quality and equal access at the local level.
The meeting was held with the representation of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Sports, as well as the leaders and team of the Strong Municipalities (BtF) project, who contributed to the discussions and the validation process of the National Survey on Pre-school Education 2025 and the policy document.
The National Survey on Preschool Education aims to:
assess the level of compliance of municipalities with national standards and the legal framework
provide a clear overview of resources, staff, infrastructure and equipment in preschool education
During the meeting, the policy document on preschool education was also presented, which analyzes:
the achievements of decentralization
the challenges in financing, capacities and territorial equality as well as
the importance of dividing responsibilities between central and local government
The document contains evidence-based recommendations, aiming to improve the legal framework and increase the quality of preschool education services at the local level.
This activity was supported by the Strong Municipalities project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Embassy of Switzerland in Albania and the Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, and implemented by Helvetas.
