📢 National Association of Municipalities in support of decentralization!
In the context of advancing decentralization in the sectors of agriculture, health and education, the National Association of Municipalities held a consultative meeting with the pilot municipalities of Shkodër Municipality, Berat Municipality, Kolonjë Municipality and @Divjakë Municipality.
💬 During the meeting:
✔️ The challenges and recommendations for the delegated functions in these sectors were discussed
✔️ The importance of a sustainable dialogue with central institutions for a more effective, administrative and financial decentralization was emphasized
🤝 Working in groups with municipalities and experts was a key element of this meeting, which will contribute to the drafting of a policy paper with concrete recommendations for improving the existing framework and strengthening the role of local government.
📄 With the contribution of municipalities and discussions at the central level, the National Association of Municipalities will continue with advocacy and lobbying, representing the voice and real needs of municipalities.
🔹 This activity was organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening the Local Government of Albania”, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation Swiss Development & Cooperation and implemented with the support of NALAS.
