The first Steering Committee meeting of the EU for Municipalities Phase 2 project, implemented by #GIZ, #NALAS, the National Association of Municipalities of Albania (#SHKBSH) and #KDZ, is taking place 🤝
This meeting marks an important moment for strengthening inter-institutional coordination and the strategic orientation of the project, with a focus on supporting local government and advancing European integration 🇪🇺
👉 During the meeting, participants shared perspectives and key messages:
🔹 Mr. Ervin Demo emphasized the importance of strengthening local government, especially on the eve of the Administrative-Territorial Reform.
🔹 Ms. Ritva Heikkinen underlined the need to link the project to the main processes in the country and the essential role of municipalities in building the EU.
🔹 Mr. Iven Schad emphasized the importance of integrated projects and co-financing for long-term sustainability.
🔹 Ms. Adelina Farrici highlighted the role of the project in increasing the capacities of municipalities, especially for the absorption of EU funds
💬 The discussions focused on strengthening municipalities, improving coordination and concrete support for sustainable development.
