🇪🇺 Today, the coordination meeting was held for the launch of the LORAI – Local Observatory on Reform Agenda Implementation program in the Western Balkans, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe, which aims to strengthen the role of local government in the European integration process.
🤝 The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA), as the implementing partner of the program in our country, is proud to contribute to this important regional initiative, which will bring a more active role of Albanian municipalities in monitoring and implementing reforms related to the EU integration process.
📊 Through this program, Albania is expected to benefit from:
🔹 strengthening the capacities of municipalities and NAMA to monitor reforms;
🔹 creation of a structured system for collecting and analyzing data at the local level;
🔹 increasing the advocacy role of municipalities in national and European policies;
🔹 more coordination between the local, central and international partners;
🔹 exchange of experiences and good practices with other Western Balkan countries.
🌍 The program is implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, in partnership with NALAS, CEMR and the Associations of Municipalities in each beneficiary country of the region.
