📊✨ From performance monitoring to data-driven decision-making! 📈
The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA), in collaboration with the “Strong Municipalities” project, organized last week the Performance Forum workshop, focusing on the use of performance instruments and data as a pillar of local governance 🏛️📊.
We were pleased to have present Ms. Majlinda Bufi, Mayor of Roskovec Municipality, who in her welcoming speech emphasized: “The more easily accessible and applicable all performance elements are, the more valuable it becomes to achieve the objectives that enable the improvement of services for citizens.” 💬
While Ms. Adelina Farrici emphasized the importance of strengthening the performance culture at the local level and the systematic use of data as a basis for more effective and transparent decision-making 📊🤝. She also underlined the need for continuous cooperation between municipalities and partner institutions to advance this process.
During the activity, the following topics were discussed:
✅ The process of drafting the National Performance Report for 2025 data 📑
✅ Challenges and achievements of municipalities in monitoring and reporting performance 🏙️
✅ Integration of the performance curriculum in training programs 🎓
✅ Best practices of municipalities in using performance instruments for policymaking and decision-making 💡
At the end of the workshop, we shared three good practices from municipalities in using performance instruments:
🏆 Shkodër Municipality
🏆 Elbasan Municipality
🏆 Pogradec Municipality (Official Website)
The workshop served as a platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences between municipalities, experts and partner institutions, promoting transparency, accountability and the use of evidence in the development of local public policies 🌍🤝.
This activity was supported by the “Strong Municipalities” project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Swiss Development & Cooperation Embassy of Switzerland in Albania and Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, and implemented by Helvetas
