📍The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA), with the support of the “Strong Municipalities” project, is drafting the Toolkit for Strategic Communication of Municipalities, a practical instrument that aims to strengthen institutional communication, transparency and civic engagement at the local level.
👉As part of this process, 20 pilot municipalities have contributed by completing the evaluation questionnaire, providing valuable information on existing capacities, current practices and key challenges in the field of public communication.
In addition, 6 in-depth interviews were conducted with selected municipalities, which enabled the identification of concrete needs, the exchange of experiences and the identification of good practices in communication with citizens and the management of institutional communication.📝🏫
📊 The findings and recommendations collected during this process will serve as a basis for the drafting of:
✔️ Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for public communication;
✔️ Strategic and operational communication plans;
✔️ Crisis Communication Plans (CAP);
✔️ Standards for transparency and disclosure of information;
✔️ Practical tools for increasing citizen participation and engagement.
Through a process of consultation and cooperation with municipalities, this package aims to provide models, standards and concrete tools that will help local administrations develop more effective, transparent and citizen-friendly communication.
