🤝 Consultation meetings in Shkodër and Durrës to strengthen local mechanisms of protection from gender-based violence
📍The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (SHKBSH), in partnership with Barazi Në Vendimmarrje, @SEH – Qëndra Strehëza Edlira Haxhiymeri, Durres Municipality and Shkodër Municipality, held focus groups and consultation meetings in these municipalities as part of the activity “Municipal Needs Assessment and Service Gap Analysis”, part of the project “Safe Together Albania: Women Alliances Leading the Way in Survivor Protection”.
👉This project is funded by the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) Program of the European Union and aims to strengthen local mechanisms of protection, referral and support for women and girls survivors of gender-based violence and domestic violence.
🔹The focus groups were attended by representatives of the Coordinated Referral Mechanism (CRM), local institutions, the State Police, the health and education sectors, civil society organizations, AKPA, social service centers, as well as women and girls survivors of violence, who shared their experiences and recommendations. In addition, consultation meetings were held with the heads of municipalities and structures responsible for social services and gender equality.
📝 The findings and recommendations collected will serve to identify gaps in existing services and draft concrete recommendations for strengthening the local system of protection, referral and support for women and girls survivors of violence.
