The next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union, visions and priorities of the new Global Europe instrument are presented

🤝 Constructive meeting with Ms. Ritva Heikkinen, Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, in the context of the consultations on the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union (MFF) and the programming of EU support for the period 2028–2031.
🇪🇺 During the meeting, representatives of the EU Delegation presented the vision and priorities of the new Global Europe instrument, emphasizing support for reforms, good governance, sustainable development, increased competitiveness, green and digital transitions, as well as strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders. The consultation process that will serve to define the priorities of EU funding for Albania in the period 2028–2031 was also presented.
🏛️ The National Association of Municipalities of Albania (NAMA), represented by the Executive Director, Ms. Adelina Farrici, underlined the importance of the active involvement of local governments in the design, implementation and monitoring of reforms, emphasizing that municipalities are key partners in the European integration process and in providing quality services to citizens. The need to strengthen the capacities of municipalities, advance fiscal decentralization, digital transformation of public services and increase investments for sustainable local development was also emphasized.
🌍 NAMA remains committed to contributing to an open dialogue and sustainable partnership with national institutions and European partners, ensuring that the voice of local government is part of the decision-making processes related to Albania’s European future.
