Kuçova borders the municipality of Belsh to the north and west, the municipality of Gramsh to the east, the municipality of Berat to the south and the municipality of Ura Vajgurore to the west. The capital of the municipality is the city of Kuçova. According to the 2011 Census, this municipality has 31,262 inhabitants, while according to the Civil Registry it has a population of 55,293 inhabitants. The new municipality has an area of 160.23 km2. This municipality consists of 4 administrative units. The new municipality has one city and 31 villages under its administration. Based on the new administrative-territorial division, the city of Kuçova joins three municipalities, combining its resources, which have so far been mainly based on oil, with the agricultural sector of these rural areas. The main resource of Kuçova continues to remain oil and gas. The natural wealth of oil and gas in this area is still considered high.
